小泉八雲旧居
The preserved home of Lafcadio Hearn, the writer who introduced Japanese ghost stories to the Western world.
Lafcadio Hearn lived in this samurai-district house while teaching English in Matsue and writing his legendary ghost story collections. The house preserves his study with a low desk (he was nearly blind in one eye), and the Japanese garden he loved. The adjacent memorial museum explores how a Greek-Irish writer became Japan's most famous cultural translator.
