大和郡山金魚の町
Japan's goldfish capital since the 1700s, with 50 breeders, themed streets, and a castle moat display.
Since the 18th century, this castle town has been Japan's goldfish capital, shipping 58 million fish annually from roughly 50 breeders covering 60 hectares. Goldfish Street near Kintetsu Koriyama Station features tanks in every shop, goldfish-motif manholes, and flags throughout. The Goldfish Museum displays approximately 40 varieties from common to endangered, and the castle's moat doubles as an open-air goldfish display.
